Binghamton, NY -- On International Overdose Awareness Day, Congressman Marc Molinaro is calling out DC Insider Josh Riley for his law firm's defense of Venezuelan drug traffickers.
In 2016, the nephews of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Efrain Antonio and Campo Flores, were found guilty of trying to ship 800 kilograms of cocaine to the United States by a federal grand jury. According to the Wall Street Journal, the nephews were represented by Josh Riley's DC law firm.
Congressman Molinaro said, "Not only did Josh Riley work in DC to dismantle border security policies, but his law firm also worked to defend Venezuelan drug traffickers. The drugs these guys were pushing are killing our kids. DC Insider Josh Riley is so morally bankrupt -- he'll work for anyone if the money is right, and say anything to not lose again. Shame on him."
Marc's Record:
Voted to pass the Secure the Border Act in May 2023. The bill closes the border and streamlines the asylum seeking process, but has languished in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
Authored and passed Schools Not Shelters Act, preventing Gov. Hochul from using schools as migrant shelters.
Teamed with Democrat Congressman Pat Ryan to request the Biden-Harris Administration declare a federal emergency to address the border crisis. The request was denied by the White House.
Riley's Record:
Sued in the Supreme Court to dismantle Trump’s border security policies.
Wrote a bill in the Senate that gives amnesty & benefits to millions of illegal immigrants.
Congressman Molinaro was elected in November 2022 to represent New York’s 19th Congressional District. The new district includes Broome, Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Sullivan, and Tompkins counties as well as part of Cortland, Rensselaer, and Ulster counties. In Congress, he has been recognized by the nonpartisan Lugar Center as the 2nd most bipartisan and by the Congressional Research Service as the fifth most productive.
