Molinaro Endorsed By Ithaca Electricians Union, His 10th Union Endorsement

Ithaca, NY -- The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 241 in Ithaca has endorsed Congressman Marc Molinaro for reelection in New York's 19th Congressional District.

Congressman Molinaro is building significant support from the labor community, with recent endorsements from high-profile unions like the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA-NY), Binghamton-Oneonta Building Trades Council, North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and IBEW chapters representing the Southern Tier, Hudson Valley, Catskills and Capital Region.

Todd Bruer, Business Manager for IBEW Local 241 said, "The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 241 in Ithaca, NY, is excited and proud to  endorse Congressman Marc Molinaro in his re-election campaign. Throughout my adulthood and working career I have heard many politicians say one thing during their election campaigns, and then they get caught up in Party agenda’s and do not remember what is important for their constituents. In looking at Congressman Molinaro’s accomplishments, goals for the  future, and his voting record, it is easy to see that our Congressman Molinaro has never turned his  back on his constituents, he remembers what is important for his constituents, and he understands and supports the values and concerns that are near & dear to Labor Unions. Congressman Molinaro has not forgotten where he came from and his support for Union Labor is unrelenting. He understands that the Labor Unions are a pathway to the middle-class and proves his understanding with his continued support on important legislation that supports our core values.

Congressman Molinaro said, "Thank you to IBEW Local 241 for your endorsement and vote of confidence. For me, it's not about a political party, it's about delivering results for every person who calls Upstate New York home. It's why I've fought to put working families first, authoring legislation that supports unions and voting down bad bills that would have undermined unions and the paychecks and retirements of union workers."

According to the NY Post, Congressman Molinaro is a 'favorite' among some of the biggest unions in New York State. In Congress, he has supported the Tax Fairness for Workers Act, which delivers a tax deduction for union dues and expenses, supported the National Apprenticeship Act to create nearly one million new apprenticeship openings, and voted against legislation that would have undermined Davis-Bacon and Project Labor Agreements.

Congressman Molinaro was elected in November 2022 to represent New York’s 19th Congressional District. The new district includes Broome, Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Sullivan, and Tompkins counties as well as part of Cortland, Rensselaer, and Ulster counties.
